To Receive: 1) The Gmach has a waiting list of people who would like to get furniture. Please call: 718-773-1920 to place your name on the waiting list.
2) When a donor calls in with an item, the information is passed on to those on the waiting list. The receiver will be the one who gets to it first.
3) The Gmach serves as a match-maker between the donor and the receiver. the Gmach does not pickup, deliver or store any furniture.
4) The Gmach does not see the furniture. The Gmach does try to find out as much information as possible from the donor. Please keep in mind, that most donors beleive that they are donating good furniture, yet, in the past we found that the quality of the furniture is often not as good in the receiver's eyes, as the donor presented.
To Donate:
1) Please call: 718-773-1920 to have your furniture donated.
2) The recepeints of the furniture are private individuals in need of furniture. Commonly, the receivers are newlywed couples that are setting up their home. We do have families on our waiting lists as well.
3) The Gmach serves as a match-maker between the donor and the receiver. the Gmach does not pickup, deliver or store any furniture.
4) When a matching recipient is found, the Gmach will give the recipient the donors contact information. From that point on, the receiver and donor are in direct contact.
5) The Gmach does try to filter through the information you provide to save you time and trouble. The more accurate and detailed the information you provide is, the easier it is.
